Quiet Reflection

A place for quiet reflection

to watch the world go by.

Coal used to live here.

Look closely and you can find,

Bricks of red still clinging to mortar.

Rocks and junk, it doesn’t belong.

An old dead anchor?

Rusty and expired.

over there, a floating wrapper, perhaps a Cherry ripe?

Look out to monsters on the water,

looming to the sky.

Cargo containers.

See the metal giraffe's,

machine arms reach high.

Footprints in dirty sand,

broken shells and lonely fishing line.

Angry waves mirror a moody sky.
